Ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne, bien qu&rsquo;inhabituel, pourrait devenir de plus en plus fr\u00e9quent en raison du changement climatique.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Un clich\u00e9 spectaculaire<\/h2>\n<p>Une image montrant des torrents d&rsquo;eau d\u00e9valant la face nord du Cervin a \u00e9t\u00e9 largement partag\u00e9e et a suscit\u00e9 d&rsquo;innombrables r\u00e9actions sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux. Certains accusant m\u00eame le clich\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00eatre un faux, g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 ou modifi\u00e9 par l&rsquo;intelligence artificielle.<\/p>\n<p>La photo a \u00e9t\u00e9 prise le 25 juin \u00e0 18h10 depuis son chalet par Harry Lauber, 78 ans, ancien guide de montagne et propri\u00e9taire d&rsquo;un h\u00f4tel \u00e0 Zermatt. Il avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 assist\u00e9 \u00e0 une sc\u00e8ne similaire lors d&rsquo;un orage de gr\u00eale en ao\u00fbt 2022. Selon lui, des courants d&rsquo;air descendants acc\u00e9l\u00e8rent les pr\u00e9cipitations intenses. Comme il n&rsquo;y a plus de neige pour absorber l&rsquo;eau, celle\u2011ci descend dans les couloirs. L&rsquo;\u00e9v\u00e9nement a dur\u00e9 dix \u00e0 quinze minutes.<\/p>\n<p>La photo a \u00e9t\u00e9 analys\u00e9e par de nombreuses publications d\u00e9di\u00e9es \u00e0 la montagne. Le magazine en ligne \u00abAlpine Mag\u00bb l&rsquo;a partag\u00e9e en confirmant son authenticit\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une webcam de Zermatt.<\/p>\n<h2>Un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne d\u00e9sormais fr\u00e9quent dans les Alpes<\/h2>\n<p>Robert Bolognesi, nivologue : \u00abC&rsquo;est un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne que l&rsquo;on observe dans toutes les Alpes. On a quasiment les m\u00eames probl\u00e8mes en France et en Italie.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Les glaciologues italiens Riccardo Scotti et Giovanni Baccolo soulignent que cette sc\u00e8ne aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00abextr\u00eamement rare\u00bb par le pass\u00e9. La face nord du Cervin, autrefois embl\u00e9matique de l&rsquo;alpinisme sur glace, a perdu son \u00ab\u00e9crin de glace\u00bb.<\/p>\n<h2>D\u00e9gradation du permafrost<\/h2>\n<p>Ce jour\u2011l\u00e0, l&rsquo;isotherme 0\u00b0C se situait autour de 4800 m\u00e8tres. Les pr\u00e9cipitations entra\u00eenent une d\u00e9gradation du permafrost, essentiel \u00e0 la stabilisation de la montagne. L&rsquo;effet de ces pluies peut durer des semaines ou des mois, favorisant chutes de roches et glissements de terrain.<\/p>\n<p>Pierre Mathey, secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral des guides de montagne : \u00abL&rsquo;effet de la canicule se fait sentir en haute altitude avec une fonte acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9e de la neige, des glaciers et le d\u00e9gel du permafrost.\u00bb<\/p>\n<h2>Cons\u00e9quences pour l\u2019alpinisme<\/h2>\n<p>Le r\u00e9chauffement climatique modifie profond\u00e9ment la pratique de l&rsquo;alpinisme. Les dangers estivaux sont encore mal connus, contrairement aux avalanches hivernales. L\u2019impact varie selon les massifs et les courses.<\/p>\n<p>Certains itin\u00e9raires doivent \u00eatre modifi\u00e9s, d&rsquo;autres voient leur saison \u00e9voluer avec l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e de fortes chaleurs d\u00e8s mai ou juin.
