Les guides de montagne mettent en garde contre un risque accru de chutes de pierres, souvent provoqu\u00e9es par les alpinistes eux-m\u00eames.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00abOn pourrait gravir le Cervin en ce moment m\u00eame, sans crampons et en simple t-shirt\u00bb, affirme Anjan Truffer, guide de montagne et chef des secours de Zermatt. Mais cette apparente facilit\u00e9 cache un r\u00e9el danger. \u00abQuiconque ne conna\u00eet pas la montagne n&rsquo;a rien \u00e0 faire sur le Cervin. C&rsquo;est beaucoup trop dangereux!\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Cet avertissement intervient alors que les guides de montagne locaux appellent \u00e0 renoncer provisoirement \u00e0 l&rsquo;ascension. Le bureau des guides \u00abZermatters\u00bb recommande ainsi \u00abde s&rsquo;abstenir de gravir le Cervin jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 nouvel ordre\u00bb, indique une lettre obtenue par Blick.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Le risque de chutes de pierres ne cesse d&rsquo;augmenter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En cause: \u00abLes temp\u00e9ratures constamment \u00e9lev\u00e9es et le risque accru de chutes de pierres qui en r\u00e9sulte\u00bb, \u00e9crivent les guides de montagne. A 4478 m\u00e8tres d&rsquo;altitude, au sommet du Cervin, les temp\u00e9ratures restent habituellement n\u00e9gatives, m\u00eame en \u00e9t\u00e9. Lors des ann\u00e9es normales, le manteau neigeux r\u00e9siste lui aussi \u00e0 la saison estivale.<\/p>\n<p>Mais cet \u00e9t\u00e9, la situation est diff\u00e9rente: il fait tout simplement trop chaud sur le Cervin. \u00abCe que nous observons sur le Cervin depuis juin est extr\u00eame\u00bb, explique Anjan Truffer. Et cela, alors m\u00eame que la montagne traverse habituellement sa meilleure p\u00e9riode de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e pour l&rsquo;alpinisme. Pourtant, le risque de chutes de pierres ne cesse d&rsquo;augmenter. Pourquoi?<br \/>\nRisque accru de chutes de pierres sur le sommet du Cervin. Les guides de montagne tirent la sonnette d&rsquo;alarme.<\/p>\n<p>Le sommet du Cervin est particuli\u00e8rement expos\u00e9 et rocheux. En temps normal, une \u00e9paisse couche de neige stabilise les pierres instables. \u00abLes randonneurs suivent toujours une trace \u00e0 travers le n\u00e9v\u00e9 et ne voient pas le sol en contrebas\u00bb, explique Anjan Truffer, qui a lui-m\u00eame atteint le sommet plus de 230 fois.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00abLe danger est cr\u00e9\u00e9 par l&rsquo;homme\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mais cette couche de neige a aujourd&rsquo;hui disparu. L&rsquo;hiver peu enneig\u00e9 n&rsquo;a pas permis d&rsquo;accumuler des r\u00e9serves suffisantes pour r\u00e9sister aux temp\u00e9ratures exceptionnellement \u00e9lev\u00e9es de ces derniers mois. \u00abSans trace de neige, les alpinistes vont dans tous les sens\u00bb, explique Anjan Truffer. En temps normal, les cord\u00e9es progressent pourtant \u00e0 deux, en suivant un itin\u00e9raire bien d\u00e9fini.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abSi des grimpeurs inexp\u00e9riment\u00e9s utilisent une corde trop longue, ce qui arrive fr\u00e9quemment, elle touche la roche et la met en mouvement\u00bb, poursuit le secouriste en montagne. Toute personne se trouvant plus bas sur la voie d&rsquo;ascension se retrouve alors imm\u00e9diatement en danger. Selon Anjan Truffer, les alpinistes eux-m\u00eames sont responsables de ce risque accru: \u00abLe danger ici ne vient pas du perg\u00e9lisol, il est cr\u00e9\u00e9 par l&rsquo;homme!\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Les \u00e9v\u00e9nements des derniers jours semblent lui donner raison, comme l&rsquo;a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 en premier la \u00abNZZ am Sonntag\u00bb. Plusieurs cord\u00e9es ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pi\u00e9g\u00e9es par un \u00e9boulement sur le Cervin. Un guide de montagne, bless\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9paule apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 touch\u00e9 par une pierre, a d\u00fb \u00eatre \u00e9vacu\u00e9 par h\u00e9licopt\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Le souvenir de 2003<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Les chutes de pierres ont toujours fait partie des risques de la montagne. Selon les statistiques du Club alpin suisse (CAS), elles sont \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine d&rsquo;une trentaine d&rsquo;interventions de secours chaque ann\u00e9e lors de randonn\u00e9es en haute montagne ou d&rsquo;ascensions \u00e0 travers le pays. Au cours des cinq derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, le CAS a recens\u00e9 deux accidents mortels li\u00e9s \u00e0 des chutes de pierres.<\/p>\n<p>Anjan Truffer conna\u00eet parfaitement ce danger. Depuis 32 ans, l&rsquo;alpiniste de Zermatt gravit le Cervin, ou participe \u00e0 des op\u00e9rations de sauvetage sur ses pentes. La d\u00e9cision de d\u00e9conseiller actuellement son ascension ne le surprend donc pas, d&rsquo;autant qu&rsquo;une telle situation s&rsquo;est d\u00e9j\u00e0 produite par le pass\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Il se souvient notamment de la canicule de 2003: \u00abUn immense bloc de pierre s&rsquo;\u00e9tait d\u00e9tach\u00e9 au-dessus du refuge H\u00f6rnlih\u00fctte. Au total, 70 alpinistes ont d\u00fb \u00eatre \u00e9vacu\u00e9s.\u00bb La principale voie d&rsquo;ascension du Cervin \u00e9tait alors rest\u00e9e ferm\u00e9e pendant plusieurs jours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Les alpinistes doivent repenser leur approche<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pour le guide de montagne, l&rsquo;\u00e9volution future de l&rsquo;alpinisme estival d\u00e9pendra avant tout de l&rsquo;enneigement et des temp\u00e9ratures. Le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne ne concerne pas uniquement le Cervin, mais l&rsquo;ensemble du massif alpin. \u00abIl est donc n\u00e9cessaire de revoir notre approche, estime-t-il. Nous devons nous pr\u00e9parer \u00e0 grimper plus souvent durant les intersaisons, en juin ou en septembre.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Impossible pour l&rsquo;heure de savoir combien d&rsquo;alpinistes renoncent actuellement \u00e0 gravir le Cervin. \u00abId\u00e9alement, les passionn\u00e9s choisiraient une autre montagne\u00bb, lance Anjan Truffer en riant, avant d&rsquo;ajouter: \u00abNous avons 28 autres
